The speaking skills of George W. Bush

Sory about the advertising before the video clip.

But hang in there, it's really worth it. Bush is amazingly coherent in adversity . (Much earlier when he was running to become Governor of Texas too; please see the video of the debate with Kerry linked to below).

Listen to his comments acknowledging Republican defeat in the last elections. He didn't mangle one single word, he didn't stumble once and he spoke rapidly. Compare that to the idiotic blabbering you heard so often from him. I can only conclude that he's a fraud! What deception the process called democracy ("rule of the people") is!

It really is outright fraud if one takes words at their literal meanings,

Bush at the Texas Gubernatorial debate in 1994 spoke fast and didn't stumble or mangle a word either; not once. This video shows that and then compares it to the Presidential Debate with Kerry (where he had some weird bulge on his back, widely speculated to be a communication device).

Here is the other side.
The one you're used to. (Watch it, even if you are a Bush supporter. You'll have fun too.)

What a fraud this process called democracy is.

P.S. Check out the Photo Essay link on the left of the CBS site and look at no 16 in particular to see what an old Pres. Ford, Pres. Reagan and Kissinger pal Rumsfeld is/was with all the old politics that implied in this period. "Nice" company of presumed and proven terrorists theat is. Don't forget the (grainy) look od him and Saddam shaiking hands shaiking hands in the preceding post. (Gates the propose replacement of Rumsfeld withdrew from his CIA Director application because of possible involvement in the Iran Contra scandal, the US terrorist action that ultimately resulted in many deaths , much distruction and a US $ 8 billion judgement by the World Court agaisnt the USA. They didn't pay, of course, but withdrew from the Court's justisdiction.)

Rumsfeld resigns

Good riddance and much too late is the most concise way I can put my reaction.

However, this is only step one. Rumsfeld is on record accepting that he is responsible for Pentagon decisions. The invasion of Iraq is illegal under international law for several reasons. Kofi Annan went on record saying he thinks so and many others, including former President Jimmy Carter, did the same. Rumsfeld should face an international war crimes trial. Of course, this is never going to happen.

A summary of Rumsfeld's life.

In passing:

... While many have thought that Saddam first became involved with U.S. intelligence agencies at the start of the September 1980 Iran-Iraq war, his first contacts with U.S. officials date back to 1959, when he was part of a CIA-authorized six-man squad tasked with assassinating then Iraqi Prime Minister Gen. Abd al-Karim Qasim. ... The assassination was set for Oct. 7, 1959, but it was completely botched. Accounts differ. One former CIA official said that the 22-year-old Saddam lost his nerve and began firing too soon, killing Qasim's driver and only wounding Qasim in the shoulder and arm....

Over 10 years ago a reporter for the Financial Times named Alan Friedman uncovered the shocking story. It involved Rumsfeld among others. Over 5 billion Dollars were funneled to Saddam Hussein to finance nuclear and chemical weapons technology and other products. Over 10 years ago a reporter for the Financial Times named Alan Friedman uncovered the shocking story.

Particularly noteworthy are the following passages:

21 mins to 25 mins about Saddam and Rumsfeld in the 1980s.
26 mins to 27:50 mins Rumsfeld 1983 visit in Baghdad with an offer of Israeli assistance.
Beginning at about 40 mins Alan Friedman speaks about the complicity across US party lines.

Former CIA director Robert Gates has been nominated to succeed Rumsfeld. The former belongs to the same criminal cabal of neo-cons as the former. He withdrew in 1987 as President Reagan's nominee to be CIA director because of his involvement in the Iran-Contra affair.

The tragedy continues.

Amnesty International delegate visits scene of Gaza Strip killings
AI press release Nov 8, 2006

18 civilians in the Palestinian town of Beit Hanoun killed by Israeli shelling this morning.

... Those killed, most of whom were asleep in their beds when their homes were struck by shells fired by Israeli forces, included eight children. An Amnesty International delegate who visited the scene of the killings shortly after the attack was told that 15 of the victims were killed in the first strike and that three others were killed by a second shell as they raced to help the dead and injured.

“This terrible act follows a renewed upsurge in killings of Palestinians since Israel forces launched their latest military operation into the Gaza Strip on 2 November,“ said Malcolm Smart, Director of Amnesty International’s Middle East and North Africa programme. “Israeli actions during this entire operation have been marked by nothing less than reckless disregard for the lives of Palestinian civilians, over 20 of whom had been killed even before this morning’s tragedy.”

In all, before today’s deaths, more than 53 Palestinians were killed during the Israeli military siege of Beit Hanoun in the northern Gaza Strip, and many more were wounded. Two ambulance workers were among the civilians killed. ...

As Israeli forces began their siege of Beit Hanoun, one senior officer, Lieutenant Colonel Yarom, said that troops had been instructed to avoid causing civilian casualties. Four days into the operation, in face of a rising toll of deaths and injuries among Palestinian civilians, Israel’s Prime Minister Ehud Olmert declared: “Those Palestinians who have been wounded were mostly armed, but, to our regret, they are using innocent people as human shields, resulting in the injury of uninvolved civilians as well”.

The information gathered by Amnesty International delegates currently in the Gaza Strip contradicts this, however, and indicates that at least half of those killed, including at least two women and several children, were unarmed bystanders not involved in the confrontations. The pattern is the same for those injured as a result of Israeli force air strikes and artillery shelling.....

Includes an (incomplete) list of the victims.

Guardian editorial: The Blood Of Innocents

Yesterday's victims were all civilians and mostly women and children. Their deaths will fan the flames of a conflagration in danger of getting out of control.
